Back in the Saddle

So, the question is... do I remember how to do this, add a blog post, add some pictures? It has been far to long. Ten months in all. I have thought of getting back to a routine many times, I have missed it. Not that life is exciting, I just have missed the routine of it. So here goes, I hope it is like getting back in the saddle whether it be on a horse or a bike. I will see what happens.

The house is almost finished being painted, just two small side walls of the back dormer, awkward to get at so we are waiting for when the new roof is done in the spring and there is good scaffolding up to tackle the last bit. There is still work to do inside. I am hoping we can tackle the back room/mudroom/laundry room soon. It would be nice to get it done before Christmas. Then there is the living room. The list goes on!

Lots of quilting is getting done.

I added a row at the top and at the bottom plus the border. it was machine quilted by Lynn Jones. I will deliver it back to the owner next week. I hope she likes it.

"Cutting Garden" from a workshop with Krista Hennebury last spring. It is machine pieced and machine quilted (by Debbie Vermuelen). This was a really fun quilt to make, I am so pleased with it.

Another New Year!

Welcome to 2017! Gosh that happened fast, it is the year of my 70th birthday! I am really going to have to think about that for the next few months and what that means.

I am anxious to get back to some quilting, finish some UFO's, start so new projects. I need to stop bookmarking and adding inspiration to Pinterest! So many quilts I want to make, lots of ideas are percolating. Nothing should get in the way, I have lots and lots of fabric, I have the time. I need to get back into a definite sewing routine. Getting back to Guild meetings, my bee and a few group projects will certainly help. We have a new great nephew who needs his own quilt and another new "great" due in the summer. So now I need to stop making excuses and get to work.

More renos are coming!

More renos are coming!

This is what we found when Peter pulled up the old carpet in the mud room. More lino and bare wood that was painted around the edge. Eventually the floor will be painted but first the walls and ceiling need new drywall to cover up the not-so-great plaster, then paint then the floor.

I am not one to make resolutions but I am going to try hard to be back here more often!
